We obviously respect client confidentiality but here are some examples of our work: People friendly policies within a building services company A growing building services company wished to establish people friendly policies and procedures to help facilitate further growth and become the local employer of choice. Caliam produced the essential employment documentation and procedures required based on a consultative approach with the staff ensuring both legal compliance and staff support at every stage. Misconduct with a professional services company Caliam was asked to investigate a potentially serious misconduct issue within a professional services business. Following an investigation Caliam guided the company through a disciplinary procedure leading to the dismissal of a senior member of staff on the grounds of gross misconduct. Contracts of employment for fast growing businesses Caliam was approached by an engineering business and a design company. Both companies were expanding and required contracts of employment which reflected the interests of both businesses. Having established their needs we were able to prepare contracts which supported the future activities and needs of both businesses. Communications within a regionally based business The managing director of UK wide company wanted to develop an open dialogue with a number of regionally based staff regarding a change in working practices which he wished to implement. Caliam designed the communication process ensuring that the views of the staff were openly considered and facilitated a frank and open discussion on the key issues requiring change. Shift pattern change with a UK manufacturing company A successful manufacturing business needed to change its shift patterns to support its future expense plan. Caliam supported the business in identifying its desired outcome and planning/implementing the process of changing current working patterns and practices. High staff turnover Caliam were asked to find out why a company was experiencing a high turnover of skilled workers and to help formulate a strategy for reversing the trend. We used a number of approaches to gain information, such as exit interviews with employees and were instrumental in implementing a strategy which has dramatically reduced the turnover of staff whilst also improving the internal management skills of the company. Competency tool Caliam designed a competency based framework for a national based organisation. The framework has become an essential tool for future recruitment and personal development planning. |
