Caliam HR is run by Jon Phillips, a specialised HR professional with experience working for Scania, GlaxoWellcome, Glanbia, and a division of Mitsubishi.
With over 20 years experience in the HR and employment fields, Jon has based his career on making HR and Employment issues simple and straightforward for business owners, directors and managers – allowing them the time and resource to concentrate on their primary activities, both strategic and operational.
With an Honours Degree from the University of Warwick and Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Jon’s background takes in a variety of sectors and industries including manufacturing, engineering, food, finance, pharmaceuticals and distribution. In these areas he has worked for UK, Scandinavian and Japanese owned businesses all at senior strategic and operational levels.
Jon’s particular expertise lies in the varied and complex areas that are commonly referred to as ‘Employee Relations’ and ‘Recruitment’. Simple enough headings for areas that cover almost every aspect of employing staff. Projects that Jon has undertaken include major activities on the retention of key skills, the development of a competency frameworks as a recruitment and development tool, the establishment of a Greenfield service/support facility, TUPE and Redundancy.
With the simple approach that businesses need both realistic and flexible resources, Jon applies commitment and humour to all projects.
